You yelled into the wind
To mind my feet and not fall prey
I sliced the onion with eyes tightly shut
Cooling tears rushing down
Laughing cheeks
You told me how foolish I was being
I swam to far
You stayed close
I rushed
You paused
Yet here we lie still
In each other’s embrace
You whisper that joy
Is found in watching me
I, in return, know
You are the center
Of all things.
